Okay, check this out guys. I just had my piano tuned and it's a really good example of something

called sympathetic resonance in which one thing vibrating makes another thing vibrate and that's

how opera singers break the glasses. But what happens is, the frequency of this note is twice as much as this note.

So if you have A440, that means this A is 880.

So if you can see the waves,'d actually see 880 vibrations per second.

That would be 440, an octave down is 220, that would be 110, 55, and so on.

Basically what that means is when you play a note you hear that frequency but there

are also a bunch of frequencies over the top of that called overtones and

they sound different on different instruments which is partly why different

instruments sound different.

But what you can do is hold this down without making a noise and then play notes

that are over the top of that.

I don't know if you can hear that.

What kind of glowy sound, that is all coming out of that string.

You're getting like eight different coming out of that string you're getting like eight

different sounds out of that one string

i'll do it again so we can hear it Okay. And I thought, well, that's about the weirdest thing.

And I thought, well, that's about the weirdest thing. What are they doing? So I wasn't asking what are you guys doing?

And one of them said just calmly and matter fact, she says, we're standing here

feeling the love come off this machine.
