Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories Podcast. I'm your host

0:03.7

Dr. John DeLin. It is July 7th, 2021. And today we have a very special Mormon Stories

0:10.1

Podcast interview. I say that every time and I mean it every single time. Today we are interviewing

0:15.9

Warren Driggs and Cindy Pulson Driggs and they are currently residents in St. George,

0:22.2

but they grew up here in or at least warranted here in Holiday, Utah. So Cindy and Warren

0:28.5

welcome to Mormon Stories Podcast. Thank you. It's a pleasure to be here. Yeah, it's so

0:33.0

good to have you guys. It's a pleasure. Thank you. For those who like kind of a preview of what we're

0:37.1

going to be talking about, I know about Warren. Well, first of all, I met Warren and Cindy in St.

0:43.0

George. I went down there for an event a couple of years ago and they were gracious enough to host

0:48.0

a gathering of ex-mormons down in St. George. Beautiful home, amazing guests, wonderful food,

0:54.0

delightful conversation. And I just thought these people would be amazing interviews on

0:59.0

Mormon Stories Podcast. I also learned about Warren because he is the author of a book. Of several

1:05.3

books, but one book is called Mormon Boy a Memoir by Warren Driggs. And he is also the author of

1:13.3

a Tortoise in the Road, Old Scratch, Swimming in Deep Water, a novel of Joseph Smith. And it's a very

1:20.8

interesting book, definitely a worthwhile read. So I know a little bit more about Warren than I do

1:25.6

about Cindy, but here is kind of what today's interview is mostly going to be about. It's going to

1:31.2

be about their respective Mormon up, bringing us. I will give away just what I know, which is that

1:37.1

Warren definitely would have reached adulthood more of a, let's say orthodox or faithful Mormon.

1:42.6

The incentive was not to disparage Cindy. They did get married on the temple as Mormons. We'll

1:47.8

talk about that. But let's just say that Warren was gung ho. Maybe Cindy was a little bit less so,

1:53.8

but they were going to make it work as Mormons. And I think where it gets interesting is, let's just

1:58.9

say in their late 20s, mid to late 20s, Warren starts to have doubts in question. And let's just say
