Harry and Megan have now announced their bid for independence.

No one expected the extraordinary statements.

They're rather confused than naive.

They seem to want to have their cake and eat it.

They still want to cling on to the purse strings of the

British taxpayer and they still want to have that status that we have given them.

The palace is very upset about what's happened.

Normally they try and hold everything together, you paper over the cracks.

That is not happening now.

Prince Harry and Megan Markle have announced their intention to step back from royal duties and I quote

carve out a progressive new role within the monarchy. This move is unprecedented. What did you make of it?

I thought it was amazing. I mean it was you almost

couldn't make it up. There's been so much discussion on this podcast as well as elsewhere about how

that combination of entitled and hectoring Harry and Megan have been. But the idea that they would basically leave the royal family whilst trying to stay within it in order that they don't have to suffer as much as they saw at the horrible scrutiny and the pressures of their position is almost effectively to kind of become

you know you n Instagram influences almost something like that is something that you almost

couldn't make up it's just absolutely fascinating that it's kind of like a collision, it feels like a kind of celebrity

entitlement and old-fashioned kind of royal entitlement in so far as they are quite happy

with the position that they have by didn't of obviously

Harry's family lineage they're quite happy with the platform but they want none of the things that come
