.com. We got Dr. John, D. Martini, on this show today. He's going to tell a story

about the great writer, Walt Whitman. And he's going to encourage you to go the

extra mile. You know, a lot of people when they're in the job market do the same

thing as everybody else does. You know, cover letter, resume, send it in, wait. But you

got to make yourself stand out. You got to realize that you are competing with other people.

And it's the people or the person who gets the most attention, who goes the extra mile,

who has that enterprising mentality. That's going to be the one who gets the job. That's

going to be the one to get the raise, the one to get the promotion, the one who creates

leverage is the one who wins. Dr. D. Martini is coming up.

I shared this when Arco and Shell Company and a lot of big oil companies in Houston in the 80s

nose-dived and laid off thousands of people, they had an out placement service and they

hired me to speak, to inspire people in the out placement to try to transition them to get

on with their new life because they had no job there anymore. And they were spending millions

of dollars on all this out placement for all these people trying to get them to change.

And they found that I was more cost effective to pay me to come in and speak to get them

inspired about a new job instead of sit there and dangle on and dangle on and holding on and

they're having to pay for these people. So in the process of doing it, I got this opportunity
