Christy Miller. She graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in

Communication Sciences and Disorders, then completed her master's in

speech pathology at Vanderbilt University.

She has additionally completed a master's degree in gerontology from the University of Southern California

and a master's degree in health care administration from Florida Atlantic University

and a certificate in diversity and inclusion from Cornell.

Okay, she completed her CF at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, then worked clinically in various settings including acute care, outpatient skilled nursing, but the majority of her clinical experience is working in inpatient rehab units.

She started at her current hospital,

Bethesda Health, part of the Baptist Health South Florida

in 2014 as an SLP working in inpatient rehab

and outpatient, that nine months later was promoted to speech team leader,

a position that was half clinical and half administrative.

After being in this position for four years, she was promoted to rehabilitation

supervisor in the fall of 2018, and now is in a purely administrative

She supervises close to 50 staff that include PTO, SLP and TECS in an inpatient

rehab unit and SLPs working in acute care and NICU.

She also continues to work as per diem in another inpatient rehab unit on weekends one time a month

to keep her toe in the clinical side.

She is an Asha Leadership Development alum and was recently elected to SIG 15 Gerontology
