Happy Utah Pride Week everyone! To celebrate Utah Pride week, I am sharing one of the most important interviews in the history of Mormon Stories Podcast. It is the story of Kyle Ashworth - a dear, brilliant, talented friend, and the host of Latter Gay Stories podcast.

This interview is important for at least 3 reasons:

Kyle is a truly brilliant, caring human. That should be enough.
It conveys super powerfully the myriad of ways in which the Mormon Church harms its LGBTQ members AND its straight members - including a deep dive into the serious problems of mixed-orientation marriages within Mormonism, along with the deep ineffectiveness and deceptiveness of organizations like North Star International.

0:05.2	And I hopefully for you an epic interview with Kyle Ashworth.

0:10.7	I was lunch.
0:11.7	It was great.
0:12.7	Thank you.
0:13.7	We just spent four, four and a half hours with Kyle as he told us about his Mormon heritage,
0:18.2	his Mormon upbringing, you know, his experience as a closeted, suppressed gay Mormon youth growing
0:24.8	up in Utah, hyperachiever and high school stumbled upon the pamphlet that said, mission, marriage
0:33.3	and children were the cures to his homosexuality.
0:36.9	And I say that in air quotes.
0:38.5	And so Kyle went on that Mormon hamster wheel as we call it and served his faithful mission
0:44.1	in Michigan, got home, found his wife, married her, and started having children.
0:52.0	And as he says in the notes, he was still was a super gay.
0:56.2	What was the word?
0:57.2	The hell a gay, hell a gay.
1:00.2	And we ended our last episode with him finding North Star as his last hope.
1:08.4	And that's when we were able to dig into the North Star cuddle parties and the North Star
1:13.2	experiences.
1:14.9	And the way we kind of ended it was just talking about how in Kyle's view, a North Star offers
