Hey guys, welcome back to the screenwriting life. Today we are on part two of our series on being a beginner and beginning.

So both where to begin as an emerging writer, but also where to begin your story.

Okay, so first, under the banner of choosing what to write, so you're an emerging writer,

you're a pro writer quite honestly, what do you write?

asked how do you know if an idea is worthy of spending the next three, six, or 12 months on

when you're writing on spec.

I think it's really hard to know at the very beginning.

I think you just have to start writing and see what comes out whether it's

magic or not right like you just have to sort of dig in and see what you feel where it takes you. It's hard to know sometimes but the test is does this make you have a feeling? Are you curious about it? Are you angry about it? Do you not have a feeling at all and you're wondering why it's it should be something that makes you have a feeling?

So I check back into that or the character is the character somebody that came to you that you feel is engaging interesting infuriates you is doing something cool

If you're feeling nothing and you have no interest in it I would write a little bit and then like why are you writing about that then?

So it's basically it comes from you and what you're interested in.

If the question is worthy as in like is it going to sell or other people going to like it I would say just ignore

that and write into what you want to explore.

Yeah I agree 100 percent you should be writing what ideas won't let you alone,
