Summary

Worldwide, the rates of chronic pelvic pain for women of childbearing age range from 14% to 32% Deb Malkin is a plus size, body positive, LCS certified life coach, massage therapist, movement enthusiast, and client zero of her pain recovery coaching work. She had only been taught that pain is related to issues in the tissues and was never taught the link between the brain, nervous system and the experience of chronic pain. Her mission has always been for people of all sizes, abilities and genders to feel at home in their bodies. She shares her story of chronic pain. The brain can continue and perpetuate pain long after the body has healed. Why is chronic pain everywhere? Does pain tell us lies or is it in how we interpret the pain that gets us in trouble? The role of fear and being able to feel. We talk about pain with sex and pelvic pain and tips for that issue. The “perfectionist personality” and suppressed rage and how it is involved with pain. The role of self-acceptance and body image and pain. The process of just being aware changes your brain. The “lazy detective”. “The brain talks to us in thoughts, emotions and body sensations” Deb Malkin CURIOSITY IS THE ANTIDOTE TO FEAR Recommended Book The Way Out by Alan Gordon https://amzn.to/35vybLY 1:1 chronic pain coaching program - www.debmalkin.com https://www.instagram.com/movewithdeb/ Podcast “Move With Deb” - https://movewithdeb.libsyn.com/ March’s Sponsor – Tabu Code YANB for 15% off of your intimacy kit at www.heytabu.com This Podcast is not approved for credit by CMEfy, however, you may reflect on how this Podcast applies to your day-to-day and engage to earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ via point-of-care learning activities here: https://earnc.me/EL95aG --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/kj-casperson/message Learn more about your ad choices.
