0:02.0	So the reason why I decided to become a plastic surgeon
0:06.2	was it happened to me in grade school.
0:09.1	So when I was in grade school, there was a girl in my class
0:11.8	who had a club in Palantin, and she
0:14.8	was on my bus route, and kids went towards her.
0:18.5	It was unfortunate, but especially back then,
0:20.2	because now we're very focused on anti-bullying
0:23.0	and like you can't get away with the behavior that
0:24.9	used to happen when I was a kid.
0:27.0	But people would throw things at her and they would
0:29.9	alter nobody would go near her.
0:33.4	It was because she had a facial disfigurement,
0:35.7	unfortunately.
0:37.2	And I was a friend.
0:38.0	I just had a bus with her.
0:40.1	And the thing is that she had surgery during the time
0:43.0	that I knew her.
0:44.2	And as her appearance started to morph and become
0:46.6	more normalized, people started to respond to it differently.
0:51.3	And I thought that was a very powerful way.
