Summary

When we left off last week, Robin Hood was stabbed in the side by an assassin who deceived him, and he was bleeding out all while his camp was being swarmed by the Sheriff of Nottingham's men, his friends being driven off, captured, or killed. It's not looking good. The creature this week is the only one who could resist those sinful apple slices...and it gets rewarded by being set on fire. -- Sponsors: Get $20 off your subscription to Storyworth at https://storyworth.com/legends With Kindle Unlimited, you can get two months of access to over a million books for just 99 cents by going to https://amazon.com/legends -- Music: "Guild Rat" by Blue Dot Sessions "Betty Dear" by Blue Dot Sessions "One Quiet Conversation" by Blue Dot Sessions "Lupi" by Blue Dot Sessions "Hickory Shed" by Blue Dot Sessions "Tartaruga" by Blue Dot Sessions

This is a podcast where I tell stories from mythology and folklore. Some are incredibly

0:52.4

popular stories you think you know, but with surprising origins. Others are stories that might

0:57.2

be new to you, but are definitely worth listening. This is part 3 of our Robinhood stories,

1:02.5

so if you haven't listened to part 1 and 2, you might want to go do that first.

Previously on the podcast, Robinhood mysteriously appeared in Sherwood Forest,

1:10.7

after ruining the archery contest the sheriff of Nottingham at Throne for the King.

1:14.7

For three years, he both joined and recruited other outlaws, living in the woods,

1:19.7

until he had quite the formidable band. Finding himself humiliated one too many times,

1:24.8

the sheriff hired an assassin, one guy of Gizborn, to track down and kill Robinhood once and for all.

1:31.7

And so, guy not only tracked down Robinhood, but informed one of the sheriff's underlings

1:36.6

about where the band lived in the forest. We left off last week with guy marching toward the

1:41.0

gates of Nottingham, with Robin's mutilated head on a pike, and 140 of the sheriff's men

1:46.4

lying in wait, and their camp in Sherwood Forest. It looks like Robin's reign of terror in the

forest had finally come to an end.
