0:40.4 | Many in the tech community were concerned about Donald Trump because of positions he took on |
0:44.7 | immigration, encryption on trade, and of course the general issues with his demeanor and |

0:54.2 | issues to people who work in Silicon Valley, a lot of progressive folks there. And there was this |
0:59.3 | issue that pretty much all of the donations from tech were going to Trump other than Peter Thiel, |
1:04.2 | not a lot of people in tech were outspoken in favor of him. So do you see this as a problem, |
1:09.1 | the schism between the candidate and Silicon Valley that |
1:12.2 | was so pronounced before the election? Well, first of all, the mantra of our industry is, it's all |
1:18.7 | about change, and the change is good. So we're going to set up a personal example here, I think, |
1:24.6 | with CTA in the tech industry and move forward and find |
1:29.0 | common ground with a new administration and see what we can do. |
1:33.4 | You know, the president-elect ran explicitly on a jobs platform and he quite successfully |
1:39.3 | tapped into a deep underlying insecurity on the part of a large number of Americans about their economic |
1:47.4 | future. And if you look at the tech industry and if you look at our companies, there are the |
1:51.5 | companies that are driving the economy. If you look at the top five companies and the S&P 500, |
1:55.9 | most of them, I believe, are tech companies. So he has every incentive to work with us, |
