Summary

17-year-old Junko Furuta failed to come home one day after working a shift at her part-time job. Now, Junko was always responsible, so it wasn’t like her to stay out late without telling her parents or brothers. Her family called everyone they knew to ask if they’d seen Junko or heard about where she’d been. Except, no one had heard from her. Nobody knew where she was. And unfortunately, nobody could have ever expected what happened to Junko next.

0:35.0

podcast for the very first time or if you are a returning listener, thank you for

0:39.5

dropping in and listening to today's episode. Now for those of you who are new, let me just kind of break down who I am and what it is we do over here.

0:47.0

My name is Annie Elise, and I like to just jump on the mic here

0:51.0

and talk with you guys about a true crime case,

0:53.5

whether it's been weighing heavy on my mind for one reason or another,

0:57.4

whether it has certain levels of conspiracy or crazy details

1:01.3

that I'm trying to wrap my mind around.

1:03.4

For me, jumping on the mic and sharing these cases

1:06.0

is a little bit cathartic in a sense.

1:08.0

And of course, we do it to help raise awareness

1:10.6

to help keep these victims' voices active,

1:13.5

even after they unfortunately are no longer with us.

1:16.5

And I like to just do it in more of a conversational manner,

1:20.6

not so formal, not all of the flowery language, but really just breaking it down like I'm talking with a friend of mine.

1:26.6

I'm sharing a story with my besty on the couch while we're having a glass of wine or

1:30.2

eating froio or doing something like that. So that's the vibe and hopefully that's

1:35.2

conveyed through the podcast. I don't know I guess you tell me but that is the vibe

1:39.0

that we are going for. Now before we get started in today's case I do want to warn everybody listening

1:45.8

and give a little bit of a trigger warning of sorts here that the case we're

1:49.5

talking about today is especially graphic I mean incredibly so and it also
