At the time, James was busy researching and writing a book about the British Army in North Africa,

its tactics and training in an effort to explain the difficulties the 8th Army had in fighting

the Africa Corps.

James's book, 8th Army vs. Rommel, was released last year but I've only recently found

a time to read it and what a cracking book it is.

In this episode, I've asked James back to discuss the war in North Africa.

and indeed these whole about out there as well just before the war isn't actually in the field
