He was born in England, moved to Boston to attend

Berkeley College of Music. He's often recognized for his ferocious slapping and two-handed

tapping techniques, but also his incredible content creation, which hides musical commentary

beneath a thick layer of virtuosic playing and sarcastic parody. He has a brand new signature

bass out with Schechter, and we're going to talk about absolutely all of it today. Charles,

I mean, that last chunk is like the most pyrotechnic unbelievable thing. And it's in time and it sounds good. And like, there's so many things. But when Sharon and I were watching that, I was like, what I wanted to know from a player perspective, right, is if I wanted to like get that level of facility,

if I'm like, I want to do that, I want to tap like that, I want to slap like that.

Give me the first thing that you would show me or show the community to ascertain just a little

bit of tapping intelligence or facility on the instrument.

What is the first thing that you'd say in terms of tapping? I want to know.

I would say the first thing is just to get some basic chords down.
