| 0:00.0 | Hey guys and thanks for tuning in for week 34 of the year. |
| 0:07.0 | That makes it like two thirds of the way through the year. |
| 0:12.0 | Again the Joe Rogan review is a podcast for fans of the Joe Rogan experience. |
| 0:24.0 | What I do with guests is I review the week's episodes and I talk about what I like and people that come on talk about what they like and also how the show overall has inspired them and people in general it's just an homage to what he does. |
| 0:48.0 | You know I mean it's an entertaining show a lot of people like it but I don't think we often stop to discuss the great things that show is brought to people he's been making shows now for. |
| 1:04.0 | I think ten years that's a long time and that's a long portion of people's lives and it's really helped change a lot of people's lives it's not just a podcast. |
| 1:17.0 | It's something that really helps to educate and focus and that's what today's episode is going to be about. |
| 1:28.0 | First things first Joe Rogan's birthday last week happy birthday Joe 51 years old. |
| 1:36.0 | I got to say happy birthday to the man and again thank you for so many years of such a great show. |
| 1:46.0 | This week he only did one podcast since my last show so I'm not going to get into reviewing that one I chunk that in with another show later in the week but I wanted to take that time since it's his birthday just to talk about kind of my experience with the Rogan podcast and I've been a listener since almost the very beginning. |
| 2:10.0 | I think when he was first starting his shows I was living in Chicago and I just came across podcasts I can't remember how I think I think it's because I had like one of the very first types of smartphones and you know I just been listening to kind of some weird podcast apps early on and just came across his and it just stuck it was fun. |
| 2:39.0 | And entertaining even early on even when it was like his basic is kind of the podcast that I do now. |
| 2:47.0 | But very quickly I realized that it had a different type of value other than just show entertainment it had something special and it wasn't just the guest that he was bringing on that would fascinating it was it was the type of conversations the length of conversations I never had such an insight into people just talking about it. |
| 3:08.0 | Just talking for that long and then through those conversations he just started to spill knowledge. |
| 3:19.0 | I mean he's had an unconventional life being any type of celebrity is very unusual being a comedian is probably even more unusual then of course he had fear factor and again he was on the UFC which I'd always enjoyed. |
| 3:36.0 | So there were just so many elements of things that he did that I was like oh this is fucking great this is cooler here from. |
| 3:46.0 | And I think in a lot of ways you know you make assumptions about people and he even calls it out like you know he says he looks a bit like a meathead or a douchebag. |
| 3:58.0 | It's easy to just judge people like that I think it was one of the first time I mean when he started to strike me as a really intelligent person with some fascinating insights into human nature it really had me question you know who I listen to for knowledge and I was just amazed that he was so insightful. |
| 4:21.0 | And as the years progressed in his conversations deeper than his guests started the various much as they did in philosophers and all kinds of different thinkers were coming on scientists and just other fascinating people it really opened it up because so many people were finding him finding Joe fascinating to talk to and I think it was it was a surprise to them in a lot of ways and it's important to recognize that. |
| 4:49.0 | Yeah you never you never know where the knowledge lies in people and you know and it's not just what you learn from his show it's the inspiration that comes with it so many people feel trapped or lost you know maybe they didn't have the best upbringing or just struggle to find directions maybe they're fine. |
| 5:18.0 | Maybe they're fully capable of doing a lot of different complex things but they don't necessarily have the motivation for it I know I didn't so much of these last 10 years I didn't know what direction I was going in and and I know there's parallels with a lot of other people I mean while wanting to make this podcast and talking about it you realize how many fans of his show you have out there and how many of those things are there. |
| 5:48.0 | So I think these fans talk about what it's done you know that he is a really smart guy and that it's helped them kind of put into action positive things and in kind of change their thought process. |
