The preseason is over.

We had the final game last night. Today we're going to talk about what we learned from this week's action. Now, let's get caught up on everything from this week's games.

And it's not necessarily earth-shattering stuff since a lot of teams don't even play their starters in the third week of the preseason.

But I was surprised how many notes I came away with.

So let's start with the Steelers offense looking like they are absolutely ready to make a big leap forward this season.

And a huge part of that is last year with Matt Canada as the offensive coordinator,

it seemed like he was holding them back a little bit.

And I think a lot of people, including myself, were surprised that they didn't make a change at that spot, that they didn't get another coordinator to come in.

They stuck with Matt Canada.

But the thing is, now with some of these young players advancing and developing, we're starting to see this offense come into their own.

They made some improvements on the offensive line, too.

But it all comes down to Kenny Pickett.

Going into his sophomore season here, he has been fantastic in the preseason,

really nearly flawless.

I mean, he completed 13 to 15 pass attempts for 199 yards and two scores over his three outings.

And he helped the team find the end zone on all five of the drives that he was on the field. So that's about as good as you can do in the month of August. We have George Pickens, who's someone we've talked about a lot on the show, but it looks like he's making strides here to become a more consistent player and to really emerge as that impact player that people think he can be, including myself. I've been very high on him.
