For this week's episode, I sat down with my favorite person, producer, and husband: Matt! He and I answer all your questions about our history & how we ended up where we are today. The most requested question being: How do we make it work when he's Team Edward and I'm Team Jacob? It's truly our greatest hurdle, listen to see how we cope. Hope you enjoy! Hi everybody, welcome back to a new episode of The Bad Broadcast. My name is Maddie. I'm your host and I'm extra happy today because Matt is here.

0:28.3

So there is some confusion on who Matt is. I got a lot of questions like is your boyfriend is your husband is your roommate?

0:35.6

I'm like, okay, no. So he Matt is my husband. We have been married three and a half a little over. Oh wait, no, three and a half years. Yeah.

0:43.3

Yeah, yeah, been together almost five years and we've been friends for about seven years, little over seven years.

0:50.1

Little over seven. Yeah, we were friends and we'll get into all that. We'll tell you guys how we met, you know, how we got out of being friends.

0:56.4

So normally right now we would do a dumb dumb club check-in, but I am going to save those for next week. We'll have a big section, or a big, I always say section. I mean to say segment, a big dumb dumb section.

1:08.8

I said it again. That's funny. A big dumb dumb segment next week because this week I want to just answer your guys' questions that you had for me and Matt and just talk about us because I like him.

1:20.2

We're enough dumb dumb for you. Yeah, we are dumb enough. We don't need you guys to contribute to it. But let's just, you want to just dive in. Let's start from the very beginning.

1:30.8

Okay, what's the beginning? You walk me through this. The beginning of our relationship. Yeah, we're not going to help.

1:36.4

Okay, so how we met. Do you want me to tell her? Yeah, you go up.

1:40.5

So we met in the summer of 2013. Yes. 2013. I was on a study abroad with my college in London. And one of the people on the study abroad with me, like in my group, was somebody that Matt had grown up with.

1:59.3

And so they had no chance. We guys were like roommates, right? I mean, yeah, I mean, does that mean we like lived in the same apartment. I mean, that cool. Yeah, he didn't like, we didn't share a bunk bed.

2:09.3

One day this kid, he asked me if I wanted to hear this band. It was a couple of his friends from his high school, whatever. He's like, they're really good. It was like, whatever.

2:18.3

So he showed me this band showed me a picture of him. And I was like, dang, that lead singer is like kind of hot. And I was like, in London. And I was like, I'm going to date this, this guy in a band.

2:28.1

Like I was really, really excited about it. And I was like, tell him that I want to go on a date with him when we get home. I love his music, which I genuinely love all of Matt's music. But I knew I knew back then, even when I wasn't in love with him that I loved his music.

2:41.9

So I convinced this friend of mine to send my number to Matt. And when I got home, he reached out to me. And do you remember that first night we texted? We hadn't even met yet.

2:52.1

We really hit it off. We texted to like 3 a.m. It was one of those nights. Yeah, amazing. We just we got along really, really well. I like.

3:01.9

It's so weird now because I look back on that first night. And I was like, I'm going to marry this guy. Like it was going so I was like, we talked about it. I'm pretty sure.

3:09.6

Yeah, I was like, how do we get along so well? And you're like, I don't know. But like, we're going to get married. And I was like, yeah, no, we really probably are. So we hadn't even met yet.

3:17.3

Were you in London at that point or were you home? No, I was home. I was home in my parents' house. I remember. Yeah.
