Summary

Diet culture is a vicious enemy that makes you believe that something is wrong with YOU if you don’t successfully lose weight. Being stuck in the diet cycle makes you spend every second of every day thinking about food and your body, which is no way to live your one precious life. Mary explains how dieting, restricting, and binge eating are all different sides of the same coin, so once you stop dieting and restricting, you will stop binge eating too.    In this episode, Mary shares how to end the diet-restrict-binge by reframing your mindset around food and your body. Mary also talks about the metaphysics of food (a term that’ll change your relationship with food forever) as well as the #1 mindset tool that helped her stop binge eating, forever. Our bodies are wise, so let’s learn to stop fighting them and trust that your body got your back.   Get ready to walk away feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to say f*ck you to diet culture.

Today I wanted to do an episode about how to stop binge eating, restricting, and dieting.

0:39.9

The reason why I put these all into one episode is because they are all the same thing. Seriously. I know. It sounds crazy because

0:46.7

binge eating seems like the opposite of restricting, but from right now moving forward,

0:51.9

I want you to see them all as the same thing because they're all

0:56.0

cyclical. One leads into another. And if we stop restricting, we'll stop binging. If we stop

1:00.6

binging, we'll stop dieting. And if we stop dieting, we'll stop restricting. So all of them are

1:06.0

pretty much the same thing, even though they manifest in a different way. The reason why I wanted to do this episode

1:12.5

right now is because I know that a lot of us are struggling with maybe stress eating and not

1:18.6

liking our bodies as much because we're not moving them. And being at home, I know that comes

1:26.2

with a lot of body image concerns, especially if you're at

1:29.4

home and stressed. It feels like it's you versus your mind versus the pantry. And I've been there so

1:36.7

many times before when I was going through my binge eating phases, I suppose, because I didn't fully heal until,

1:46.8

honestly, just a couple of years ago.
