This week we did something a little different we're going to focus on the similarities

between the Hebrew and Babylonian mythologies in Genesis.

Similarity is putting a small point on it.

all right plagiarism let's try that that. That's a better word. There you go. So what I have, I've done research on the Babylonian creation myth, the Anuma Elishlish and Leighton you've got what I've got the epic of Gilgames

which is actually the Noah story as per the Judeo-Christianity Bible.

So, which one of us would like to go first?

I'll probably go first since it's the creation story.

We have to be created before we can flood the world and kill everybody.

So a little bit of historical background in about 590 or so the kingdom of Judah was overrun by Babylon which was the emerging empire and power of the day.

A great number of their intellectuals, the leaders of the community, were taken.

This is what Babylon did.

It captured people's cities cities and they took the best

and the brightest and brought them back to Babylon to act as slaves and help them with their

empire.

Which makes perfect sense if you're a budding society who wants to stay on top.
