Obviously this situation there has been volatile for quite a while but it's like a very underreported situation around there right now. Maybe just explain to us what it is you're doing in Honduras, why are you reporting that?

Yeah, so I'm an independent journalist who's been

reporting in Honduras for about two years now, really consistently for like nine months, right?

And the context that people need to understand about Honduras, I would say there's two things really.

One is that Honduras has been in a constant state of crisis since a

2009 military coup that was quickly legitimated by the United States it wasn't

orchestrated by the United States it was orchestrated by the United States. It was orchestrated by the Honduran military and

oligarchy in June 2009. That basically turned the country into what is now referred to as a

narco dictatorship.

The government, the ruling party,

is controlled by drug traffickers.

Extrajudicial killings abound.

It's one of the most corrupt countries
