| 0:09.4 | word of God this morning. To get my mind right, how about you? Are you ready? Let's dig in. |
| 0:14.4 | We're in Romans chapter 8 beginning in verse 31. And this is one of the most amazing, |
| 0:22.0 | encouraging statements in all the Bible. It says what |
| 0:26.0 | should we say to these things and that these things he's been talking about is |
| 0:30.1 | the suffering and hardships and things that we go through in life and the truth that's kind of counter to that is that God is on our side. |
| 0:41.2 | He has predestined us to become conformed to the image of his son and |
| 0:44.9 | that he's using those difficulties and those hard things to bring about that |
| 0:51.0 | conforming to the image of Jesus and so he's saying what then |
| 0:54.6 | should we say to these things if God is for us who can be against us? |
| 1:00.3 | You know that is an amazing question to ask yourself if God is for me who can really be against me have you ever thought of it that way? |
| 1:11.0 | I know that in life there are people who are quote unquote |
| 1:16.7 | against us at times but the reality is because of who is on your side, God himself, those people who are against you, so to speak, |
| 1:28.3 | are really nothing for you to be concerned about because God, the God of the universe, the one who spoke and all creation came into being, |
| 1:37.0 | is the one who is on your side and he is on your side not because you're anything special, |
| 1:41.0 | but because you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ, and that makes you special. |
| 1:48.1 | He did not spare his own son, the verse goes on it, says he who did not spare his own son that gave him up for us all |
| 1:55.3 | how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? |
| 2:01.0 | The point is God has already done the heavy lifting by taking care of our sin and by placing |
| 2:08.5 | his son on the cross to die for us. God has already taken care of the worst opposition we could ever face, which is |
| 2:15.6 | his own judgment against our sin. So the logic follows that he will therefore surely do the lesser things, the things that are not as important. |
| 2:27.0 | And that means being on our side against those who oppose us. Whether it's circumstances, whether it's people, |
