This is the art of Catholic.

In Luke chapter 10, that famous story of Mary and Martha,

Jesus is something of supreme importance. He says there is one thing necessary,

sitting at the feet of our Lord and growing in intimacy

with him.

In other words, our interior life, our relationship with God is what this life is ultimately all

about.

And a couple of weeks ago, I was interviewed on the EWTN radio show Take 2 with Jerry and

Debbie about my discovery of the Catholic spiritual life a few years after I became Catholic,

which as I think about it's kind of crazy.

Like I didn't understand the spiritual patrimony

that was available in the Catholic church.

And once I got into it and I began to practice it,

that's when everything in my Catholicism changed.

That's when everything just kind of took off

and gelled so to speak.

So in this conversation, we are talking about that as well as what does

healthy interior life look like for regular Catholics? What's it supposed to look like?

And it was such a good conversation. I wanted to share it with you guys. We also talk about things

like the importance of community in our spiritual walks and what's the role of spiritual direction
