Wajahat Ali is a Daily Beast columnist, public speaker, recovering attorney, and tired dad of three cute kids. Get his book Go Back To Where You Came From: And, Other Helpful Recommendations on Becoming American which will be published in January 2022 by Norton. He believes in sharing stories that are by us, for everyone: universal narratives told through a culturally specific lens to entertain, educate and bridge the global divides.

Listen to WAj and DAnielle Moodie on Democracy-ish

He frequently appears on television and podcasts for his brilliant, incisive, and witty political commentary. Born in the Bay Area, California to Pakistani immigrant parents, Ali went to school wearing Husky pants and knowing only three words of English. He graduated from UC Berkeley with an English major and became a licensed attorney. He knows what it feels like to be the token minority in the classroom and the darkest person in a boardroom. Like Spiderman, he’s often had the power and responsibility of being the cultural ambassador of an entire group of people, those who are often marginalized, silenced, or reduced to stereotypes. His essays, interviews, and reporting have appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and New York Review of Books. Ali has spoken at many organizations, from Google to Walmart-Jet to Princeton University to the United Nations to the Chandni Indian-Pakistani Restaurant in Newark, California, and his living room in front of his three kids.

Bill Boyle is a well sourced and connected businessman who lives in Washington DC with his wife and son. Bill is a trusted friend and source for me who I met after he listened and became a regular and highly respected caller of my siriusxm radio show. Bill is a voracious reader and listeners love to hear his take. I think his analysis is as sharp as anyone you will hear on radio or TV and he has well placed friends across the federal government who are always talking to him. As far as I can tell he is not in the CIA. Follow him on twitter and park at his garages.

All right, here I am. Sorry, I am late. Finally got it together today. It is Tuesday. It is the 24th of June. There is, quote, peace in the Middle East. And also the Supreme Court has told our Tiny King authoritarian, he could be even more of a totalitarian because now he actually gets to send any convicted criminals to third countries to which they have no previous connection.

0:34.0

That's right.

0:34.3

The Supreme Court yesterday made it easier for Trump to deport them.

0:38.6

And of course, today is June 24th. It is the New York City mayoral primary that you have

0:45.3

probably been hearing a lot about no matter where you are, what your algorithm is. If you pay

0:50.2

attention to news and politics, apparently it's worked its way in there because my buddy in Australia was asking me about it.

0:56.7

So today it's Cuomo versus Mom Donnie.

1:00.3

Some other candidate could potentially win, but probably highly unlikely.

1:05.1

And so my money is actually still on Cuomo because I think people are stupid.

1:09.2

But, hey, I don't know.

1:10.5

We'll see.

1:10.9

I hope I'm wrong. It's very hot outside in New York and the surrounding, well, much of the country,

1:16.4

I should say, is baking. But here I am happy to be here with you. I've got your headlines and

1:22.6

your clip show. Thank you to everybody who was at last night's hangout. We had a great show

1:26.6

in her hangout last night.

1:27.7

We talked for over two hours. We covered all kinds of important subjects and topics. We had some great laughs in between.

1:35.6

It was a really great conversation. We also got to hear from our friend Carlo and Canada, who has just got a stent put in one of his arteries, I guess, to his heart.

1:45.5

He had a 90% blockage.

1:47.4

And we love Carlo, so we were worried about Carlo.

1:50.5

But I guess what we weren't expecting last night is to get his description of the

1:55.4

healthcare system in Canada through this one malady that he was suffering from. And it was really, really interesting to

2:03.3

hear how he went, navigated the healthcare system and what he had to do. And what highly recommend
