spiked editor Brendan O'Neill. Hello and spike columnist Ella Whelan.

This week we're going to stick to the general election

and we'll be discussing the Brexit Party climb down,

foreign interference, and much, much more.

the Brexit Party will not contest the 317 seats, the Conservatives won at the last election.

I'm glad that there is a recognition that there's only one way to get Brexit done and that

is to vote for us.

I'm dumbfounded that this week Nigel Farage Farage made the bombshell announcement that the Brexit Party would stand down in the 317 seats that the Conservatives had won at the last election.

This was to avoid splitting the leave vote in those areas.

I mean Ella, what are your initial thoughts on this?

Very disappointed I have to say. I think one of the most exciting things about the Brexit

party was that I think up until now it held true to its slogan to change politics for good

and that it had that kind of vibe of being the rebels of being the serious

ones certainly when it came to Brexit of all the time being on the right side of the debate in terms of challenging the nonsense claims from Tories of the past or challenging Theresa May.

It encapsulated the kind of excitement I think that many people had of

genuinely trying to shake something new out of British politics. And yet it seems like they have, some people are calling them unfavorably turquoise tories because of the fact that they've

stood down and allowed certain Tory seats to be unchallenged. It does feel like they've acquiesced, especially when you consider the fact that
