on Twitter is like how many people thought that the Georgetown was an HBCU but damn it if they weren't telling the truth because it it felt that way

it felt like that was like the blackest school in in America.

You know it's it's one of those things that now that I'm of the age that I am I'm a year away from 40 and I I sort of see that from a distance.

It's a strangely rejuvenating feeling about something that even though I knew at the time,

I didn't necessarily know anybody who is a Hoyas fan who wasn't from DC.

You know what I'm saying? Because I knew a crap ton of Hoyas fans from DC.

That was filling up my cup in terms of like what we knew of ourselves and that whole

pride around it and so as I grew older and people would like sort of show me a necessary deference as kind of a black sports fan because I was

I don't want to say on some level a real Hoyus man, but I was one from DC. It was it was strangely empowering to know like damn this really lasted with people

didn't just stick with them then and that HBCU thing is I mean it's kind of

funny and it has its place but like for me bro it was much bigger than that.

You know what I'm saying?

This guy was DC basketball.

And I said on Twitter, you know, he's the most important

black man in DC sports history and that's that's just

literally nothing close to an understatement for me like at all. How do you how did that

manifest itself like in DC because look I'm I'm a DePaul kid so I'm I'm someone that grew up in the era of independent

basketball with Georgetown in Notre Dame and DePaul and Marquette like all of these incredible

basketball programs that didn't have a home inside of a conference back in the

day so for Georgetown, like what was it like

to experience that up close?
