Isaiah chapter 29, verse 15.

Ah, you who hide deep from the Lord your counsel,

whose deeds are in the dark,

and who say, who sees us, us who knows us this verse is particularly important in light of

if you listen to the pray to the word podcast from Isaiah 28 talking about the Lord being wonderful and

counsel and excellent in wisdom so the very next 29, verse 15, talks about people who hide

from the Lord who is our counsel, whose deeds are in the dark. So basically the picture is

people who say, I know better than what God does, what is best for my life. And so I don't take his counsel. I don't listen to

his word. I disobey his word. I don't follow the leadership of his spirit. I do things on my own.

That's the picture of deeds that are in the dark. And almost thinking, it says, who sees us? Who knows us?

Like maybe nobody will see or there won't be effects of me hiding from the Lord's

counsel or disobeying the Lord's counsel, me doing things.

I think about conversations I have with people and even in my own heart.

So when I'm talking with people and somebody will say, I know God says this in his word, but I really think I need to do this over here.

And I see my own tendency to do the same.

I see this in your word, but I think this is better over here.

And so I hide from the Lord's counsel.

I do something over here.

That's obviously the essence of sin,

and the danger is we think we're doing something good, and nobody will be able to tell the

effects of that, but it's not true. This is a warning. Isaiah 2915 is a warning. Don't hide
