There can be pain in the act of repentance but freedom and grace in the long run. Repentance is a daily skill that you can become proficient at. Hebrews 6:1 What is repentance? Turning Toward Submission to the Lord Letting Go Changing your mind Repentance is three commands in one -Halt, about face, turn around and march in the opposite direction What are dead works? Sinful things are dead works Any dead work is something that is not on the list of what God has called you to do. Anything that makes us walk out of will for what God has set before us Why repent 2 Corinthians 7:10 Luke 13:3 Acts 3:19 - I want refreshment for you when you repent How do we repent: James 5:16 Proverbs 28:13 1 John 1:9 1 Peter 2:9 Matthew 18:18 Repentance Steps: Done by the repenter Step 1 - Repent of dead works. Get specific. Done by the priest: Step 2 - Don’t jump in and immediately try to solve the problem. Declare forgiveness. Step 3 - Command the evil spirit to leave. Our battle is not against flesh and blood. Step 4 - We invite the Holy Spirit to dwell in that same place Step 5 - Bless them in those areas It works! It can be quick. The more repentance the better - it means more refreshing. If as a family we agree this is the process, we know what happens when we repent. Our life will be defined over the next 50 years by our willingness to repent. walk in love.
