Welcome back to the Lincoln Project. I'm your host, Reed Gaelin. Today, I'm joined by Bob Brandon,

the president and CEO of the Fair Elections Center, a national nonpartisan voting rights and

election reform organization whose mission is to use litigation and advocacy to remove barriers

So Bob, today I want to talk about some of the election work that you and your organization are

doing going into the midterms as well as the threats to election officials and poll workers.

But first, I want to start with an overview of how you see the 2022 elections as a whole.

It's hard to believe, Bob, we're closing in on five months away here. So let's talk about this.

So, you know, there's that old trope right that I'm sure I've used more than is probably

appropriate is there's never been a more important election than this one. But for 2022,

that certainly feels like it's absolutely the case. So as you see it and as your organization sees

it with, you know, defending our nation's democratic institutions, how do you guys see that

midterms coming as a whole? Well, I think you put your finger on it. You know, we saw in 2020

the highest turnout election ever in the midst of a pandemic. You saw all sorts of new and flexible
