Michelle has been a strong advocate in the diabetes world since her son, Jesse, was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2000 at the age of three.

But after the sudden loss of her son at age 13,

she continues to advocate and educate.

to memorialize Michelle, her husband Jeff,

Josh and Tammy Stahl, and Barry Severs.

These five people all part of Breakthrough T1D's ride team recently passed away in a tragic car accident.
