Summary

June Hawkins is the real deal. The hit Netflix series Griselda doesn’t begin to tell the real story of June’s accomplishments and what she had to go through in the late 1970s as a woman in policing. If not for her tenacity and inquisitiveness, it would have taken far longer to dismantle the drug organization Griselda Blanco had built in the Miami area. The Godmother of Cocaine was responsible for 30 deaths directly and had her hand in at least 200 more, making her one of the deadliest narco-traffickers ever to operate in Florida. This is the real story of how one dedicated detective can make a big difference.
