0:05.8	Elliot you'll remember him from a few years ago we did a podcast on the new
0:10.0	St Thomas Institute on the ox talk discussing virtue and it was a huge hit. Everybody
0:14.5	loved it and brother Brad is back and we're going to talk about religious
0:18.6	vocation. He is at the end of his journey, kind of the final lap before ordination to the Holy
0:24.8	priesthood as a Dominican and he's going to tell us that story. Brother Brad
0:29.3	welcome back. Thank you, thank you. And as we were getting ready for the show and just kind of testing our sound,
0:36.0	he noticed that there's an electric drum set back there.
0:39.0	That's my son Jude and I remembered he he had played for a band and played
0:44.0	jazz and played the drum kit so and you toured you're about to tell me yeah yeah
0:51.1	before I entered for my answered the vocation to the priesthood, professionally I was a drum set player.
0:58.0	And I played drums professionally in Los Angeles, California.
1:05.2	By training, I did a lot of jazz drums.
1:08.2	I actually studied at the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music,
1:13.2	studied jazz, and then went out to Hollywood
1:15.2	to see if I could get in kind of the music industry.
1:18.5	And because I was a younger guy in Hollywood,
1:20.4	I ended up touring a lot with some rock bands out of there out of the city and stuff.
1:25.0	So that was a lot it was a lot of fun.
1:27.0	And then finally I was when I was 27 years old I I heard the call very clearly and so then I had to answer the call so I left that world and entered

1:39.2	Directly into the Dominicans the first thing I did actually right when I was when I was just turned
