As the war in Ukraine approaches its second anniversary, we're going to step back a little this week and have a look at where we are in the conflict. This was a war that many expected to last only two weeks. Now it's lasted two years

and there is absolutely no sign that it's nearing its end. With the general acceptance that there is

little possibility of either side delivering a knockout blow, the struggle has settled down into

a battle of resources

and a battle of resolve. We'll be looking at how that could develop in the months ahead.

And that will depend to a large extent on political developments in the West and in Russia.

We'll be previewing the Russian presidential elections now only a month away and trying to

for Ukraine will hold up during the crucial period ahead. Now more than ever, the war is being
