In this episode, I want to try to answer from actually one passage of scripture this big question.

What is preaching all about? Really all about?

What is preaching?

What is biblical preaching?

What does it mean to preach the word?

These are big questions that deserve and demand a big answer. I believe the answer to these

important questions can be found in 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1 through 5. If you are a preacher,

you should already be familiar with 2 Timothy chapter 4 verses 1 through 5 if you are not

shame on you you need to spend time in these rich verses in which Paul the apostle

charges his son in the ministry Timothy to preach the word.

He issues this charge.

He says in 2nd Timothy chapter 4 verse 1,

in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus,

who is the judge, the living and the dead,

and by his appearing and by his appearing, and by his kingdom.

That's a weighty, divine, eternal charge he is issuing here to young Timothy.

What would be so big? What would be so important? What would be so significant that he would use this dramatic language to call Timothy to faithfulness? It is stated in the opening words of 2 Timothy chapter 4 verse 2 preach the word but that command in verse 2

that begins verse 2 is is just one it is the first of nine exhortations imperatives commands the Apostle Paul gives to Timothy in this passage.

And I think as you walk through each of these exhortations, you'll get an answer to the big question.
