I've noticed that when I've made big changes, even while they're painful, the other side often feels like relief. Here's the amazing thing I realize about change. We not only have the right to change our minds, but we can change our attitudes and desires too.

And that's what I want to talk about today. Today's podcast is based on a talk I gave at a recent wild and free conference. I'm recreating it here since so many of you have asked if you could listen to it again.

Back in the 1990s, I used to listen to talk radio.

No, it's true. The internet did not exist yet, so my only

connection to the outside world was listening to people, get advice from

radio show hosts. I'll never forget this one. This mom called in and of

course I had small children at the time. This mom called in to say that she had a brand new baby that she was breastfeeding.

Now at the time I was a La Lache League leader and very much an advocate for breastfeeding.

So perhaps that's why this woman's conversation really stuck with me.
