This is episode 143 of the Swallier Pride Podcast and today's guest is Kelsey Day.

She's an SLP with seven years of experience in the acute care setting.

She received her master's degree from Northwestern University where she was trained in dysphagnaics and video

fluoroscopy by Dr. Jerry Logan. Kelsey now serves as the lead

SLP at California State Medical Center, a level two trauma center and primary

stroke center in downtown LA where she supervises and mentors a team of 9 SLPs.

She specializes in dysphagia care for the critically ill, multi-trauma and tracheostomy ventilator dependent populations.

Kelsey launched the Feast Program at her hospital to facilitate early swallow intervention

for the mechanically ventilated population.

She currently serves as a mentor for the Medical SLP Collective and guest lectures at California State University Fullerton.

And I am so glad that Kelsey agreed to do this episode with me.

She is in the thick of dealing with these patients with COVID-19 and she's got some really incredible insights that I'm very grateful for her to share with all of you.
