| 1:34.1 | They take you away from that because you get caught up with what you can't control. Or you start |
| 1:38.6 | to focus on what someone else is doing or getting or saying, and that becomes a distraction |
| 1:43.0 | that makes you less effective. Or garbage media stories. Oh, they drain your energy. They take you out of your zone when you obsess over them, discuss them, rehearse them. All these little distractions during a day add up. During a lifetime? It's a really big deal. I mean, you can turn your head for a minute. It can become an hour. It can become a day. It can become a week. |

| 2:21.3 | This stuff matters. You have to defeat distractions. And some of the penalties. I mean, it takes more energy and effort to get the job done because you were distracted while you were doing it. Or to get to the point. So now you've wasted everybody's time. Or you put more hours in trying to get done what you could have got done if you were focused on the things that mattered most in the first place. Or you start too many things and you finish too few. |
