I'm the titular Newst Olympian.

I'm a grown man who never read the Percy Jackson books as a kid.

I read them as an adult because I was determining if society had been sleeping on the series. I said yes, and now I'm reading more of the things. I'm seeing if society has also been sleeping on the Heroes of Olympus series, and I am not on this quest alone. I'm never on this quest alone. Today, I am joined by someone who you have heard on the podcast. They are the host and producer of Breakfast in Boclair. They're the co-founder of lengthy tangent, the executive producer of peculiar radio, someone that does a lot of painting stuff we'll talk about soon. And most importantly, someone who rode the school bus with me from kindergarten through eighth grade. So, Alyssa, how's it going? Hi, guys. I'm doing really well. What a fun intro. Yeah, I always got to get it in there. I always got to get it in there. You know, you were at the baby shower and it was fun always introducing you like, Hello, this is Alyssa. We rode the kindergarten school bus together and people were like, what? You still have friends from what you were five? Like, yeah, dude. Yeah, dude. And then we saw our other friend who we also knew him we were five, which blew my mind because I haven't seen him in like 20 years.

Right. That's the wild thing. Yeah.

The wild thing is now the length of time between seeing people. So yeah, you haven't seen Josh since 14 years old. And then now we're almost 34.

Yeah. It's been like, yeah, I have an entire child. I was like, oh my God. How long is it been? Right. That was even the wilder thing is me and Josh have been for instance I was two. I've got some lengthy long friendships, which is fun and cool. And I'm glad to have you here on the show. Now, before we get into the stuff about chapters 15 and 16, what's your history with the Heroes of Olympus books?

Ooh, that is a great question. You got me back into rereading Percy Jackson, understandably, blazed through Percy Jackson, and then subsequently bought all of the Heroes of Olympus books.

If I remember correctly, I think this was like somewhat around like end of COVID times because I was very, I remember distinctly being in my apartment alone on my bed,

nothing going on. I read all 10 books in less than two weeks. Yep. And I, I love them. I devoured
