We've done a few of these with Dr. Marty Brodsky and Dr. Paula Leslie.

I have said that this is what had to bring us back together, but I'm grateful that they

were able to come back and have this chat with me today. So Dr Brodsky is an associate professor of

physical medicine and rehabilitation and a member of the outcomes after critical

illness and surgery group, a multidisciplinary clinical and research group dedicated

understanding and improving patient outcomes

after critical illness and surgery at Johns Hopkins University.

His peer-reviewed research publications and book chapters focus on

swallowing and swallowing disorders and laryngeal intubation.

Dr Brodsky's research program is funded by the NIH,

studying the effects of critical illness and critical care medicine on swallowing and

the airway in their long-term outcomes.

He is a fellow of Asha, an associate editor for the Disphasia Journal and a section editor

for Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehab.

His clinical practice specializes in adult swallowing

and neurologic communication disporters.

Dr. Paul Leslie supports clinicians and researchers from local to the international level with complex

decision-making, ethics, end-of-life, and vulnerable populations.
