of thousands across Michigan if the state lifts the moratorium on water shutoffs due to overdue

bills. In the midst of a pandemic, the city and state's least privilege

are no longer going to have the water they need to wash their hands and keep themselves

safe from the virus. Often this means low-wage essential workers

becoming more vulnerable to the virus, which means more contact with everyone and the much better chance that they will no longer be able to provide

their essential work. The United Nations has said it is a

human rights violation to shut off water in Detroit. That was seven years ago and

they're still doing it. Detroit City Council came up with a plan to make water affordable to everyone.

That was 16 years ago.

And it might finally be considered.

So what happens to a government that no longer provides citizens?
