10-year-old Bianca LeBron stood outside of her school in Bridgeport, Connecticut, but she wasn't planning on attending class.

Instead, she told friends and her teacher that her uncle would be picking her up for a day of shopping and fun.

Moments later, an unknown man pulled up in a brown van and drove away with Bianca.

No one thought much of it until they learned that Bianca LeBron didn't have an uncle.

For years, police have tried to track down the driver of the van.

They thought they'd solve the case just over a year later when they located a person of interest,

but they simply didn't have the evidence to make a solid connection.

And while some believe they had the right man, others have argued that the true upductor remains unknown.

How does a 10-year-old walk away from her school, get into a van and vanish without anyone even questioning it?

That question would become the source for a massive civil suit launch against the city.

And while that case has since been settled, the truth of what became of Bianca remains unknown.
