Today I'm going to talk to you about putting on and putting off. This is something we have to do

every day as Christian women, just walking by faith with the Lord. We're going to be putting

things on and putting things off. We do not live according to the flesh anymore. So we're

putting off all the fleshly things as in sin. And we're putting on spiritual things, things

that please God and demonstrate that we are His people. The New Testament has plenty of references

to putting off and putting on righteousness. So I'm just going to pull out a couple of those.

And let's just think about making a list in our mind of the things that we are to put off

and the things we're to put on. Ephesians 4, 22 through 24 is a great place to start.

It says that you put off concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt

according to the deceitful less. And be renewed in the spirit of your mind and that you put on

the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness.

Then in verse 25 it says, therefore putting away lying let each one of you speak truth with His neighbor

for we are members of one another. So when we put off the old man notice it's just growing corrupt.

And the old man gets its marching orders from deceitful lust, deceitful, that means they're lying.

And the new man puts on truth and goodness and righteousness according to God's holiness.

Now, verse 25, we're talking about putting away lying. Just like in the previous verse it's deceitful.

We're putting off lying and we're speaking the truth. Lying comes in a few different forms.

Sometimes it can just be an outright falsehood telling your boss you arrived at 8 when you really arrived at 8.30

or it can be living a lie covering up sins and pretending to be someone you most definitely are not.

This can happen online sadly with fake accounts and you can be absolutely certain that your sin is going to find you out.

Sadly, these are scandals that come out from time to time in Christian circles.
