Vande, Jagad Guru. Today is actually the birthday of Swami Subodhanandhi

which explains the picture there.

So it's our custom to observe the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna's monastic disciples.

There were 16 disciples, monastic disciples, whom we call the direct disciples.

So their birthdays are observed.

Swami Subodanjee was one of them.

He was the youngest of the lot. So he was called Koka, which means a little boy in Bengali.

And he was boyish.

There actually exists a video of him, which is very rare.

In those days, there is in YouTube if you go to search for Swami Shibhananda and Swami Subodananda.

In one video, just about maybe 10 seconds, and they're both walking together followed by a lot of people.

I think it was a group of American devotees who had traveled from here to Calcutta in those days, in the 1920s, late 20s.

And they had taken a movie camera there and had taken that picture, the video of a film of about 10 seconds or so.

It's silent.

And everybody's moving around rather jerkily.

But the picture is quite clear.
