Pope Leo and the Vatican just finished hosting the newly appointed female, so-called Archbishop of Canterbury, depicted over my left shoulder.

And this brought back a lot of feelings, emotions, memories, because, as you may know,

I was once an Anglican priest.

I was in the same denomination, the Anglican communion that this female Archbishop is now the symbolic leader of.

She's not a pope or anything like that, not even an ecumenical patriarch,

but the symbolic center of Anglicanism, the Church of England,

the Protestant denomination that came from King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth.

And I felt a little bit, yes, a little bit angry, but mostly sad.

And I wrote a tweet that went pretty viral and I realized, okay, this is touching on something that needs to be said.

And it's something that I want to address to His Holiness, Pope Leo, about my experience,

having been an Anglican priest, so called, and then becoming a Catholic layman. And part of that transition,

because I think what's going on here

for a lot of cradle Catholics who aren't converts,

they grew up Catholic,

and Pope Francis is a, Pope Leo is a cradle Catholic,

they assume that being nice and charitable and approving of Protestantism will somehow help them.

And in my experience, it actually hurt me.

It actually set me back.

I know that there was no malice or ill intent.

But I, you know, basically when I was an Episcopalian priest or an Anglican priest,

and I found some photos.
