For those of you who don't know me, I'm Julie. I'm the person who started a

company called Brave Writer 22 years ago to help families learn how to enjoy

writing, not to just hate it.

Since then, I've written two books, The Brave Learner

and Raising Critical Thinkers,

both aimed at helping parents be more effective educators of their children. I have five grown children. I have

two grandchildren and a third one about to be born, possibly born by the time

this show airs. I have invested deeply in motherhood and

mothers for decades. So along came this book, someone other than a mother, flipping the scripts on a woman's purpose and making meaning beyond motherhood.

And I thought to myself, do I even want to read it?

I mean, I double down pretty seriously on being a mom.
