| 0:02.7 | Today, the Bible Study podcast continues the study of Luke with Luke, Chapter 18. |
| 0:15.3 | Welcome to the Bible Study podcast. I'm your host, Chris Christensen. |
| 0:19.5 | Chapter 18 begins this way. The parable of the persistent widow. Then Jesus told his disciples a |
| 0:25.8 | parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said, in a certain town |
| 0:32.0 | there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him |
| 0:39.7 | with the plea, grant me justice against my adversary. For some time he refused, but finally |

| 1:42.7 | And so he tells the story of this unjust judge, and an |
| 1:45.9 | unjust judge would be a terrible thing. Remember that the prophets in the Old Testament are filled |
| 1:52.0 | with calls for justice, and especially justice for those who have little power, like the widows and the |
| 1:59.3 | orphans. And so this is a terrible thing. |
| 2:02.2 | And so he's saying, if even this terrible man who is unjust, who is corrupt, |
