So as we continue to read through the entire Bible together, this last week we were in Second

Corinthians and once again there are a hundred different lessons, you know, in this book

and I want to point a few things out to you, but hopefully you're seeing these things.

Like when you're alone reading the Word of God, I hope that you're seeing a lot of these

lessons. Like did you catch in 2 Corinthians 1? And this continues throughout the whole book, how much

Paul talks about suffering. You know, we live in a time, you know, as a pastor right here, so many

people question the existence of

god or or question if god is watching because they're suffering so much and i get it man in our

pain sometimes you're like gosh this isn't right this isn't right and yet when you read the

apostle paul and what he writes about his own life,

it should be a comfort to you because you realize, okay, I'm not the only one suffering here.

This seems like the norm. And so Paul addresses this in St. Corinthians chapter 1, verse 3,

he's saying, blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

the Father of Mercies, and God of all comfort, who comforts us all in all our affliction,

so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we

ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ

we share abundantly in comfort too.

Paul's saying you've got to understand our God.

You've got to understand what Jesus went through on this earth. And he talks about us sharing in his sufferings.

We share verse 5, not just a little bit.

He goes, as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share

abundantly in comfort also.
