Let's look at what Republicans have been up to in the last few weeks, shall we?

First of all, in Florida, the Republican-dominated state legislature passed the so-called Don't

say gay bill.

Basically, this curtail's teacher's ability to discuss any LGBTQ issues in the classroom.

Besides being cruel and pointless and probably not very first amendment friendly, this law

will increase bullying of gay and trans kids.

It's going to push many of them back into the closet because they will be afraid to

be their true selves, which in turn will make them much more prone to self-harm and suicide.

In Texas, we have Governor Greg Abbott's anti-trans bill.

I think that Abbott is in competition with the Santos.

They're always trying to outasshole each other, I guess, so way to put it.

But also, Abbott is up for a primary.

He has a primary opponent in the upcoming GOP primary.

And he's been accused of not being conservative enough, which point I'll get to in a second.

Basically, though, this bill orders state child welfare officials to launch child abuse

investigation into reports of trans-gender kids receiving gender-affirming care.

So in other words, they're criminalizing parental behavior that is helping their children navigate

what must be a very, very difficult and at times troubling and confusing journey to become

the people they want to be.

As for conservative, what the fuck does it even mean anymore in this context?

There are no conservatives in the Republican Party anymore.

Let's just call them what they are.
