Big news that the European Union finally delivered on their promise of tariffs for Chinese EVs.

38% is the number.

It doesn't affect all brands.

Some of the brands are less, for instance, a brand like BYD, only facing a 17.4% import tariff, whereas SIAIC at makers of MG facing that almost 40% import tariff. China says they might go to the World Trade Organization to complain about this.

Tesla have already put a notice on their website saying it starts 1st of July, so buy your Model 3 now,

because Tesla will be hit by this as well, because remember they make their EVs at Giga Shanghai and import into Europe.

But the European Commission saying they might make an exception for Tesla, but it depends. This is a huge story, much like the recent incentives and subsidies that were all

coming from the US. And so I'll do a special deep dive podcast episode on Saturday. I've got to

spend a few hours getting my head around it tonight. When the kiddos are in bed, look out in your feed for a deep dive episode all about these Chinese tariffs, what it means for your favorite car makers, what it means for the industry and investment and the EVs that you might or might not want to buy. What do I mean for Norway and the UK, not inside the European Union since Brexit, of course, but we might follow

TechCrunch have a great article on Ford's secretive low-cost TV team that they're putting together.

They've called it Ford Advanced TV internally. That's new news to me.

And they talk about how they're employing from the likes of Rivie and Tesla at canoe from the

Evitol industry as well, doing acquies, buying a company and then rolling their employees last

year into this team, which are working on Ford's next generation of
