Hello there and welcome to The Bowery Boys. My name is Greg Young.

And I'm Tom Myers.

And we are on Part 2 of our series on Coney Island.

We took you through its beginnings to 1911 on our last podcast when it was literally an island

to it became a small resort town to a megaplex of amusement parks where millions and millions of

people went. Really hitting its glory days when we left you off.

And today we're going to take you through the 21st Century really up through last weekend.

So let's fall back to where we were when we left the listener last week.

Greg, it seems like there was a big fire.

There was a fire. There were three amusement parks.

Big parks, Luna Park, Steeple Chase Park, and Dreamland.

The Steeple Chase had actually burnt down but was being in the process of being rebuilt.

Dreamland completely burned down to the ground and we talked about the

midget fireman, the little hell stuff, the fire department of New York.

They couldn't stop it. It was it completely burned down to the ground.

Right.
