is the war in Iran a just war? Within Catholic theology, we have a very long tradition that's been

enshrined by St. Augustine of Hippo, at least since the 400s. You could argue from earlier,

just war theory is the list of criteria. Think of checkboxes,

a bulleted list, all the conditions for a just war, that is a righteous war, that's not sinful,

has to meet every single condition for it to be a just or righteous war.

If it is lacking in one condition, it is not a righteous war.

It is a sinful war.

It is a grievously sinful war. It is a sinful war. It is a grievously sinful war. Now, it's popular nowadays to hear

bishops and cardinals and popes to talk about we need peace, we need peace, we need dialogue,

we need dialogue. And that's true, we need peace and we need dialogue. We need dialogue. And that's true.

We need peace.

And we need constructive dialogue.

But what we really need in 2026 is clear teaching on what is the Catholic, magisterial, official doctrine on war.

And that, my friend, is what you're going to get today.

All right.

I'm going to take you through what St. Augustine teaches about just war theory.

I'm also going to take you through what St. Thomas Aquinas teaches on just war theory, and we're going to find five conditions.

After all of us understand what the five conditions are, we'll then look at the current

conflict, the United States with Israel, Iran, the whole thing, and we'll go through the checklist.

And my recommendation for the Catholic Church, again, I'm a dad on a webcam.
